You’re Messing Up My Chi

I have to admit I love to drive fast. I yell at my husband for doing it but I love it.  This stems back to the mid 1980's when we had a Toyota Celica named Chuck.  It was a 5 speed, I think, and I ran every red light and stop sign on every hill in town.  I loved to go fast and once took a turn so quickly in Coxsackie that I ran over some little old lady's Rhododendron bushes. I still…

What’s the Password?

I realized when creating a new password today that I think of these based on many factors.  Sometimes it is the season: 'Santa2010', 'JingleBells', or 'Clarice'.Sometimes it is the weather: 'HotnSticky',' DamnSnow', or 'RainyDaysNMondays'.Sometimes it is movie themed: 'LoveHimLoretta2', 'TopGunAbs' or my all time favorite: a combination of Tom Selleck and Magnum mixes.Sometimes, and in most cases, it is my mood and in looking back, I laughed when I saw some of the passwords I used: 'HotFlashesStink', 'NeedHelp', 'Unemployed101'.I forgot…

Yes, Plague and Locusts

The Tamoxifen Blues

I just started Tamoxifen treatment on May 15th....the 25th anniversary of my first date with my husband.  Who knew 25 years ago that I would be here...in good ways and in some not-so-good ways?  But, I am here and life is good.I am a fairly intelligent woman and I understand the benefits of Tamoxifen.  I will be sure to tell the arresting officer that when he slaps on the cuffs for excessive speed......hot flashes when driving....I was down to a…

Big Day for “The Girls”

This week I had my 6-month check up with my oncologist.  Every six months I see her: one time for a mammogram and exam, one time for MRI and exam.   Mammograms are not easy, it is not pleasant getting the girls squeezed in between two glass/plastic plates, but none-the-less it will save your life.An MRI is a different story for me.  I cannot and will not get into that death tube without 4 Valium and a Zanax.  I know, 4…
