German Chocolate 1; Karen’s Diet 0.

You know, I am a very active person. I work out almost every morning at 5:30am, sometimes I double dip and do another round in the evening. In addition, the amount of coffee I consume (Death Wish in particular) on a daily basis should have my metabolism revving like an Italian Formula One race car. Yet, I struggle. I returned to Weight Watchers in January after a long absence and focused on the fact that I needed to move that…

Things I tell my dog-how do you self-soothe?

How do you self soothe? Family, children, finances, health issues, we all have them.  I am neither pounding my chest, or feeling 'special' in this regard.  It just is what it is. The many faces of coffee.

It is no secret that I am a coffee fanatic.  I drink coffee all day long and sleep like a baby after a nice strong late night cappuccino. I have three coffee makers, two French presses and the Italian coffee pot, Bialetti. Matter of fact, I had coffee tcby yogurt for my afternoon snack today! I have a shelf on my shower to hold my cup in the morning and an auto load setting on my Dunkin Donut and Starbucks apps.  You…

What’s in your kitchen?

I was recently asked about the things that I use in my kitchen, more importantly the things I cannot live without. The questioning continued inquiring about the tools I would love to have. The timing was very good as Chip and I are about to embark on gutting this kitchen and giving her an overhaul. We joke about our home not being our final resting place. Our goal is to retire on a lake somewhere with a long, lazy dock and cup…
