To my fellow riders spinning on Christmas Eve

After a great pre-Christmas Eve class this morning, I feel compelled to share some thoughts and good tidings to the riders who will be spinning for 90 minutes on Christmas Eve morning.  Sadly, I will not be able to attend.  As an Italian woman, I have duties and responsibilities on Christmas Eve up to and including the Feast of the Seven Fish. (Note:  I managed to create a dish with all seven fish in one glorious pot.  I will share the recipe another time.)  So here are my well wishes…

A Tale of Two Disciplines

Both my brain and my body are questioning my decision-making process over the selection of classes I took this weekend. On Saturday, Chip and I took a two-hour Yoga Empowerment fundraiser for breast cancer class.  On Sunday, I took my usual spin class.  Two very different uses of my body and brain. I usually grab a banana or yogurt but at 4:45am, I am not quite thinking that clearly. Yes, I do drink coffee on cardio days as well! Here is a recipe for egg cups that can be made ahead and nuked to warm up. Try them. Please note: this is NOT a substitution for my…

My chi is off. I need a clementine.

It is no secret that I am a freak about clementines.  I need to eat a clementine before I work out or I truly do believe something will happen. I have not had a clementine in over a week.  I cannot find any non-skanky, unbruised or unbeaten clementines- anywhere.  I have looked, believe me. One sad sack of clementines was sitting on the shelf at Shoprite.  I cannot begin to describe the elation and subsequent let down when I lifted the…
